This Swine Life: Pig Named Six Seven Spared by Miami Dade County Leader.
While perhaps not at the identical stature as sparing holiday birds, but the county's top official conducted a Donald Trump moment this week by ceremoniously saving the life of a swine named Six Seven.
Daniella Levine Cava executed the holiday gesture at the Cuban-themed Latin Cafe 2000 in the heart of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood.
“This pig is innocent. She is worthy of this pardon. She has committed zero crimes,” declared Levine Cava in a speech with inescapable allusions to the sheer volume of pardons issued from the start of the onset of a current administration.
“If we disregard eating six or seven apples per day,” Levine Cava continued. “I hope she experiences a long and happy life away from worry.”
The event, either celebrating or rejecting the local cultural practice of consuming swine during the holidays, was established to replicate the yearly bird sparing at the White House.
The animal, contributed by a local firefighter, was given its name from the modern linguistic fad of young people yelling “6-7” – inspired by a rap song lyric – often for no discernable reason. The trend became so widespread that a prominent word reference recently named “six-seven” its annual vocabulary selection.
A Future Secured
This particular pig is now scheduled to spend its days at a farm sanctuary “far from charcoal and roasting pans”, according to the ceremony's official statement.
“The annual pig pardon has become a cherished method to open the holiday season,” said the event host, in a particularly upbeat message.
“It embodies the character of Miami: vibrant, multicultural, and rooted in traditions that bring people together. Annually, we are honored to observe tradition and kindness in a way distinctively Miamian.”
Guests enjoyed a vegetarian menu of spinach fritters and cafecito as they celebrated the pig's pardon.
