Brian Eno Calls On Public Help to Propel Together for Palestine Song to UK Christmas No 1.
A charity drive is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The project aims to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.
A Possibility for Solidarity and an "Surprise Victory"
Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a chance to support Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.
“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely let down if it fails to, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”
Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.
“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”
Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup
The single was laid down in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in September. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.
The diverse array of performers contributing to Lullaby features a group of prominent voices from the industry. All took part in the earlier concert, which successfully generated a substantial amount for humanitarian aid.
Final Touches and Availability
Lullaby was brought to life by a team of talented individuals. The song showcases a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.
The group managing the campaign have emphasized that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These resources will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an established charity.
“There is no a fixed goal,” a representative commented. “We will pursue whatever we can get. Obviously, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to the people of Gaza.”
The reality in the area was characterized as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of property reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.
“Given that reality, a few million doesn’t make that much difference. But I think what does make a difference is above all making this cause better known and showing that another narrative exists.”
The song is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a popular streaming site from later in the month.
